This page is dedicated to all the physicians and health care providers I've known who have generously shared their time, skills, and knowledge. Thank you!
Becky Rupert grew up in a small town in Florida, where she learned organic gardening and homesteading from her grandparents. The naturopathic lifestyle was impressed upon her early from a Naturopath/Chiropractor who was a good friend of the family. When she was 6, her parents moved to Ohio. By the time she was a teen, she started using homeopathy for minor ailments. In 1993, she and her husband moved the family from the city to a small town with enough land to sustain them.
In 1992 she left an extremely stressful job in photography to manage a major chain health food store. While there, she was sent to a homeopathic conference where she had her first real exposure to homeopaths from all over the U.S. She fell in love with the principles and gentle manner of healing with homeopathy and set out on a lifetime journey of learning and healing. Shortly after that fateful conference she started homeopathic college with the British Institute of Homeopathy where she earned a degree (DIHom) and Fellowship (FBIH)In 1996.
Just after getting her degree, she was able to obtain a position to work with the staff of the Akron Center for Homeopathy, Paul Christian, and founder, Dr. Michael Garn, MD, DHt, who was also President of the Ohio State Homeopathic Medical Society. Michael was a progressive physician who received his training in Germany, where homeopathy got it's start. Michael Garn's passing in 1999 was a huge loss to the homeopathic community.
While studying homeopathy with Dr. Garn, Becky also pursued a degree in Naturopathy, earning honors standing through her Bachelors and Masters levels. She graduated from the 4 year Naturopathic college in 1999. Today she still uses Naturopathic methods to help clients heal faster than with Homeopathy alone.
After Michael's passing, Becky worked with Karin Cseak, DO, and Joni Rognon, DO, continuing to practice homeopathy and learning Osteopathic manipulation techniques along with Cranial Sacral techniques. She also assisted Dr. Cseak during cranial classes which were held at a local massotherapy school. This would complete 7 years of clinical training - enabling her to pursue board certification.
Becky went on to pursue 2 certifications, one in Homeopathy, one in Naturopathy. She received her Consultant Certification in 2003. This certification is through the AANC (American Association of Nutritional Consultants), and she is also registered member of the CNRA (Council on Naturopathic Registration and Accreditation).
In September of 2004, she attained her CCH (Board Certified Classical Homeopath) and is one of 3 homeopaths certified in the state of Ohio. The Certification is through the national organization: Council for Homeoapthic Certification, (look for them in the links page). This organization is important to consumers because it sets high standards for homeopathic practitioners, sets up exams for competency, ensures proper medical and homeopathic training, (for licensed and non licensed practitoners) and maintains CEU's for homeopaths
to ensure that continuing education is met.
Becky continues to live in a small town, seeing clients, training and hosting homeopaths from abroad, and writing for Countryside Magazine. She still has her own organic garden and lots of pets who are cared for homeopathically (including some chickens!) She lives with her extended family, mother, husband, 3 children, and her parrots, Merlin and Harley, along with her Dog, Buddy, and the newest, Beau - who adopted us.
Best of luck on your journey to health!
